Part One

T'Pol is sitting in a corner of the messhall watching the stars fly by. After the planet she and Captain Archer, Trip, and Hoshi visited she was glad to be back. This week was supposed to be her wedding to Kass. She took Trips advice and cancelled the wedding. She thought she and Trip would turn out to be friends but apparently she was wrong after the way he had acted on the bridge. She looks down at a pad that's on the table and rereads what she has written. I'm a Vulcan, I'm not supposed to feel this way. I have proven myself to this crew time and time again, but that seems to not be enough. They are still suspicious of me and I don't understand why. I have not betrayed them nor have I been in contact with Vulcan. She takes a sip of Clam chowder, which the humans seem to like. She looks at the clams and the potatoes and smiles a little because she likes it. Something she thought she'd never do on this ship. She begins to write something that has been bothering her since the incident on the bridge. Trip really seems to like getting on my nerves. I've tried meditation but it doesn't seem to work, I can't get him off my mind. I can't take it anymore. I can't stand to be in the same room with him but at other times when he's nice to me, I want to be near him. Maybe I should have married Kass, then I would be away from these humans and Commander Tucker wouldn't get on my nerves anymore. She looks up and continues to look out at the stars. She then takes a sip of water and continues to look out into space. She looks up and sees Trip coming into the messhall to get something to eat. Just then the captain contacts T'Pol making Trip look at her.

"Archer to T'Pol"

She takes out her communicator.

"Yes Captain."

"I thing you should come to the bridge." She looks at Tucker. He is still looking at her and sees she's eating clam chowder. "A Vulcan ship hailed us telling us there is someone who wants to see you. I believe his name is Kass."

T'Pol's eyes widen. She doesn't answer.

"T'Pol you there?"

She blinks and then remembers the Captain asked a question.

"Yes Captain. I'll be right there."

She gets up forgetting she left the pad on the table and quickly walks out of the messhall. Trip watches her leave and looks over to the table and sees the pad still sitting there. He goes over to it and looks at it.

"Maybe I shouldn't read it. It's an invasion of privacy."

With his curiosity he picks it up and sits down and reads it. He is surprise at what he reads. He looks up after reading it.

"So that's how she feels. I wonder why Kass is here."

He gets up and goes to the bridge to find out.

T'Pol enters the bridge. The Captain comes over to her.

"Who is Kass?"

She looks at him.

"I believe he was my fiancée."

Archer looks at her wide-eyed.

"Your fiancée?"

"Yes. Marriges are arranged during childhood. You remember when I requested to send a letter to Vulcan. I was cancelling so I could stay here. My marrage was supposed to take place this week. I don't understand what he wants."

Archer nods his head in understanding.

"Ok on screen."

Kesses face appears on the view screen just as Commander Tucker arrives on the bridge. T'Pol looks at him and then at Kass.

"Kass, what is going on?"

"I wondered why you decided to stay on a human vessel. I am here to claim our marrige bond. I will not let these humans cloud your judgement."

She looks at Archer.

"These humans are doing nothing of the sort. They asked me to stay, they need guidance, disipline. I am the best choice for that."

She looks at Archer again with a glint in her eye that's telling him she's lying to Kass.

"Besides Kass, they wouldn't be this fare in space if I wasn't here to guide them."

Kass says something in Vulcan to her and then closes the channel. Archer stands beside her and looks at her. She lowers her head and looks at the Captain and then leaves. He looks at Hoshi.

"You don't want to know Captain."

He nods his head.
