Summary: I forget who it was, but someone at the TS list suggested the plot of Guess Who's Coming To Dinner as the basis for some kind of AU B/K story, and that apparently got lodged in my mind because part of this story is a little bit of a nod to that movie. The private eye stuff is just a result of my addiction to this particular genre of literature, film, and television, and it seemed like a really good way to bring the boys together. Sap, angst, romance, comedy, and drama ensue -- oh, yeah, nuzzling, snuggling, suckage, pokage, and general HML will happen, too. And when the flashback storyline converges with the present day one, something kind of nasty happens to one of the boys, but the other boy will kiss it and make it all better...eventually.
And I usually forget to mention this, but: Feedback, on or off list is always welcome; and if anyone wants to archive this, have at it.
